Announcing: Annual Christmas Dinner of Oxbridge klub Slovenia in Ljubljana. Friday, 19th December 2025

Oxbridge Club Slovenia will celebrate its annual Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the traditional location, restaurant Kult316 in Ljubljana. Aside from the excellent culinary selection of Kult316, we will enjoy a special japanese-slovenian fusion plate prepared by Shin Sato, the head chef of Sato Bento, Sato Prulček and Camut.

The guest speaker will be the CEO of NLB, d.d., Mr. Blaž Brodnjak.

The evening will begin with a reception at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM.

2nd Regional Gathering of Oxbridge Alumni in Vipava Valley was a great success

Oxbridge Club Slovenia welcomed alumni from across Central Europe for a day to explore biotech innovation, history and cuisine in Vipava Valley. Alumni from Slovenia, Austria, and Slovakia gathered for a day rich in scientific insight, cultural discovery, and opportunities for connection. Guests were welcomed at Sartorius BIA Separations, where they toured the company’s cutting-edge biotech facilities, followed by a presentation by the Mayor of Ajdovščina, Mr Tadej Beočanin, on the vision for Biotechnopolis – a regional innovation hub that will unite science, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in the heart of Vipava Valley.

Under excellent guidance of Patrik Zgonik, the group then explored the medieval town of Vipavski Križ, including a visit to its historic monastery library housing precious 15th-century manuscripts. Alumni also joined the local chestnut festival with a tasting of traditional foods and regional wines. The day concluded with a tasty dinner at Sivi Čaven, reinforcing the spirit of connection that unites the Oxbridge community.

The event highlighted the power of cross-country alumni collaboration in fostering intellectual exchange and strengthening regional ties. It sparked an exchange of ideas for future cooperation among alumni organisations across Central Europe. The day ended with a wealth of new ideas and friendships, and a shared enthusiasm to strengthen these ties in the year ahead. Looking forward to the gathering next year!

Oxbridge klub Slovenije soorganizira pogovor z dr. Enejem Kuščerjem na LUI

Pridružite se nam na navdihujočem pogovoru z dr. Enejem Kuščerjem, izkušenim ustanoviteljem in podjetnikom v svetu start-upov. Dogodek bo priložnost za vpogled v osebno in poslovno pot enega izmed uspešnejših slovenskih podjetnikov.

18:00 – 18:30: Prihod in druženje
18:30 – 19:30: Dr. Kuščer bo delil svojo osebno zgodbo, izkušnje in občutke na podjetniški poti – od začetnih spodbud in motivacije do vzponov in padcev ter zabavnih štorij. Udeleženci bodo imeli priložnost postavljati vprašanja in se vključiti v razpravo.

O gostu dr. Eneju Kuščerju:

Dr. Enej Kuščer je priznan slovenski podjetnik in ustanovitelj več uspešnih start-upov. Leta 2006 je bil eden od petih znanstvenikov, ki so ustanovili spin-off podjetje Acies Bio, ki razvija učinkovine za zdravljenje redkih in neozdravljivih bolezni in druge molekule za farmacevtsko, živilsko in kemično industrijo. Prav tako je soustanovitelj podjetij Comet Therapeutics in podjetja NU, ki deluje na področju zdravja in dolgoživosti. S svojim inovativnim pristopom in vztrajnostjo je gradil podjetja, ki spreminjajo panogo. Poleg ustanovitve lastnih podjetij je tudi aktiven mentor in svetovalec, ki s svojimi izkušnjami pomaga mladim podjetnikom na poti k uspehu. Na dogodku bo predstavil svojo osebno zgodbo in delil ključne trenutke, ki so ga oblikovali kot podjetnika.

Oxbridge club Slovenia Christmas Dinner 2021

After a covid-induced 2 year break in the honourable tradition of Oxbridge Club’s Christmas Dinner, we gathered once again on 21st December 2021, at our favourite dining hall Kult316. We were grateful to the special guest of the evening, our member Prof. Dr. Dragan Mihailović who delivered an inspiring speech on a career in sciences, including stories of how simple tools can make a big contribution to complicated theories in physics.

University of Oxford’s Director of Alumni Relations visits Oxbridge Club Slovenia

Oxbridge club Slovenia was pleased to welcome Mrs Christine Fairchild on her visit to Slovenia, where she met with the members of the club and discussed the future of alumni relations, the recent developments at University of Oxford, and how best to promote links with the university among alumni. She invited the club to participate at Meeting Minds 2019, which will take place in Oxford this year.

Oxbridge club Slovenia Christmas Dinner 2018

The club gathered once again for the annual Christmas dinner at our favourite Oxbridge dining hall Kult316. We were grateful to the special guest of the evening, Prof. Dr. Ernest Petrič for delivering a thought-provoking analysis of the political and economic situation of Europe, and stressing the importance of education for enabling the search of innovative solutions to the problems that society faces at the present. The society is also grateful to our new sponsor ComCom for supporting us, in particular to help make our annual dinner possible.

Reception for Oxbridge club Slovenia by HE Sophie Honey, British Ambassador to Slovenia

HE Sophie Honey, the British Ambassador to Slovenia, welcomed members of Oxbridge club Slovenia at a reception where she presented the many activities of the Embassy to promote academic and business links between the UK and Slovenia, and invited the club to participate in the Embassy’s projects. The President of Oxbridge club Slovenia, Mr Mark Boris Andrijanič, then presented the activities of the club to promote informal links between the countries and academic exchange, in particular to support students who wish to pursue studies at Oxford and Cambridge.

Meeting Minds, Rome, 2018

Oxbridge club Slovenia was at the Oxford University alumni weekend in Rome, 6-8th March 2018.

It was great to catch up with alumni from Europe, and a privilege to present the society to Lord Patten of Barnes, the Chancellor of Oxford University.

The society gathered for the annual Christmas dinner, in proper Oxbridge style. Our partner, Kult316, managed to recreate the feeling of a college hall with a fantastic meal and good atmosphere. We appreciated the address of His Excellency Mr Tadej Rupel, the Ambassador to the Court of St James, in which he stressed the importance of academic collaboration between the UK and Slovenia, the promotion of which is at the core of our society.
